1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
6–8 slices of bread (French bread, sourdough, or any hearty bread), cubed
1 cup cooked bacon, chopped (optional: sausage or ham)
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
1/4 cup diced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or similar casserole dish.
Layer Bread and Toppings: Place the cubed bread evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle the cooked bacon, bell pepper, onions, and tomatoes over the bread cubes.
Prepare Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and toppings.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
Garnish and Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley. Slice and serve warm.
