Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (optional, for filling)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Pastry:
    • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into rectangles (around 4×6 inches each).
  3. Add the Filling:
    • Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each rectangle (optional). Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Roll the Pastry:
    • Roll each rectangle tightly from one end to the other, creating a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash:
    • Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Add Toppings:
    • In a small bowl, mix sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the rolls.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them as a snack, appetizer, or side dish!
