Ingredients

For the Ice Cream Filling:

  • 2 cups (500ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (250ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup (50g) cocoa powder (optional, for chocolate flavor)

For the Chocolate Coating:

  • 2 cups (350g) dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • Optional: 1/2 cup (50g) crushed nuts or crisped rice for texture

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ice Cream Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
    • Fold in the sweetened condensed milk and cocoa powder (if making chocolate ice cream) until well combined.
    • Pour the mixture into a rectangular dish lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.
  2. Shape the Bars:
    • Once the ice cream is frozen, remove it from the dish and cut it into rectangular bars.
    • Place the bars back into the freezer while you prepare the chocolate coating.
  3. Make the Chocolate Coating:
    • Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Stir in crushed nuts or crisped rice if desired.
  4. Coat the Bars:
    • Using a fork or skewer, dip each frozen bar into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Place the coated bars on a tray lined with parchment paper and freeze for another 30 minutes to set.
  5. Serve:
    • Enjoy these delightful treats straight from the freezer!
