Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the pan.
  2. Sauté Onion and Garlic: Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until translucent (about 3 minutes). Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add Cabbage: Stir in the chopped cabbage. Sauté it in the bacon grease for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender and slightly caramelized.
  4. Season: Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. If you prefer, add a tablespoon of butter for extra richness.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss everything together.
  6. Serve: Serve hot as a side dish or a main course.
