Ingredients:
- 4-5 bananas (ripe, peeled, and halved lengthwise)
- 300g biscuits (such as digestive or tea biscuits)
- 1 can (395g) sweetened condensed milk
- 200ml heavy cream (chilled)
- 1 packet (10g) unflavored gelatin (or agar-agar for a vegetarian option)
- 1/4 cup milk (warm, for dissolving the gelatin)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 50g biscuit crumbs (for topping)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- Arrange a layer of biscuits at the bottom of a rectangular baking dish.
- Place halved bananas over the biscuits.
- Make the Cream Mixture:
- In a small bowl, dissolve the gelatin in warm milk and set aside for 5 minutes to bloom.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Microwave the gelatin mixture for 10 seconds (or until fully dissolved) and mix it into the cream mixture.
- Assemble the Dessert:
- Pour the cream mixture evenly over the bananas and biscuits in the dish.
- Add the Topping:
- Crush some biscuits into fine crumbs and sprinkle them evenly over the top of the cream layer.
- Chill:
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the dessert is fully set.
- Serve:
- Slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your creamy, banana-biscuit delight!
