Vanilla Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup (100g) powdered sugar

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually sift in the flour and salt, and mix until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Fill a piping bag fitted with a star or ridged nozzle. Pipe the dough into small cylindrical shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn slightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.

Variations:

Jam-Filled Version: Before baking, add a small dollop of jam to the center of each cookie.

Chocolate Dipped: Dip one end of the cooled cookies in melted chocolate.
