Vanilla Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup (100g) powdered sugar
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually sift in the flour and salt, and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Fill a piping bag fitted with a star or ridged nozzle. Pipe the dough into small cylindrical shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn slightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
Variations:
Jam-Filled Version: Before baking, add a small dollop of jam to the center of each cookie.
Chocolate Dipped: Dip one end of the cooled cookies in melted chocolate.
