4 cups stuffing mix (store-bought or homemade)

1 ½ cups chicken or vegetable broth

1 small onion, finely diced

2 celery stalks, finely diced

1 tablespoon butter or olive oil

1 egg, lightly beaten

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried sage

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Gravy:

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

½ teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

For the Stuffing Balls:

  1. Sauté Vegetables:

In a skillet, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat.

Add diced onion and celery, cooking until softened (about 5 minutes).

  1. Prepare Stuffing Mixture:

In a large bowl, combine stuffing mix, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, sage, salt, and pepper.

Add the broth and mix well.

Stir in the beaten egg to help bind the mixture.

  1. Form the Balls:

Using your hands, form the mixture into golf ball-sized portions.

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  1. Bake:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside.

For the Gravy:

  1. Make a Roux:

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until light golden.

  1. Add Broth:

Gradually add the broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Stir in onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  1. Simmer:

Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring, until the gravy thickens.

Serve:

Drizzle the warm gravy over the stuffing balls and serve immediately!
