Ingredients:
- Chicken:
- 10-12 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp paprika
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
- Sauce:
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 6 tbsp garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water for slurry)
- Garnish:
- 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Prepare Chicken: In a large bowl, toss chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Cook Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (internal temp 165°F/75°C). Drain on paper towels.
- Make Sauce: In the same skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, water, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Thicken Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Combine: Return chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
