Fried Cabbage with Bacon
Ingredients:
- 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter (optional for extra flavor)
Instructions:
- Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the pan.
- Sauté Onion and Garlic: Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until translucent (about 3 minutes). Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add Cabbage: Stir in the chopped cabbage. Sauté it in the bacon grease for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender and slightly caramelized.
- Season: Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. If you prefer, add a tablespoon of butter for extra richness.
- Combine: Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss everything together.
- Serve: Serve hot as a side dish or a main course.
