Here’s a simple recipe to make delicious, colorful jelly candies at home. Perfect for snacks, gifts, or parties!
Ingredients:
2 cups fruit juice (any flavor: orange, grape, or mixed fruit)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for the mixture)
1/4 cup powdered gelatin (or agar-agar for a vegetarian option)
1/4 cup water (for dissolving the gelatin)
1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, mix the gelatin (or agar-agar) with 1/4 cup water. Let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the Mixture:
In a saucepan, heat the fruit juice and 1/2 cup of sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Add the bloomed gelatin and stir continuously until completely dissolved (do not boil).
- Set the Mixture:
Pour the mixture into a greased or parchment-lined square dish.
Let it cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours until firm.
- Cut and Coat:
Once set, remove the jelly block from the dish and cut it into small cubes or shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
Roll each piece in granulated sugar to coat.
- Store:
Store the candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
